Karate, Amaris Starts Karate

Another stripping day

He advanced to RED BELT!

Amari had been wanting to try Karate so we let him.  He did really good but he just didn't like it.  I think the teacher did a poor job showing him how to do things so he felt confident and comfortable in the class.  I was so proud of him for trying something new!

Amari Turns 4!!

My heart is reflective and full of so much love today. 4 years ago today I looked like this—10 months pregnant. I felt so apprehensive about the delivery of my 2nd who decided to start his descent into this world at 11pm on the 14th. I didn't know if I'd be able to have him naturally since having a c-section with Beckahm. I was also terrified of what might happen after the birth after the traumatic 9 hour seizures I experienced after my c-section.
I remember so clearly the moment he came with so much ease (one simple push) into this world. I remember the wonderful Midwife I had—Noelle—and how awesome she was at easing my fears and determined 100% for me to have a natural birth.
I remember that incredible feeling of them laying Amari on my chest and letting him rest like that for an hour (a totally different experience than what I had with Beckahm, whom I didn't get to see for the first 10 hours of his life besides giving him a quick kiss on the cheek). I will remember that day for the rest of my life. I'm so grateful to be this little ones mommy!

Happy birthday to this sweet little guy! His birth was one of the most special, and incredible memories of my life. Since that day he has been such a happy, always smiling, mischief making, boundary pushing little boy.  He has an affinity for music, cars, food, everything that gives him a belly laugh, and his daddy. We love you so much August Amari, thank you for coming into this world and choosing us to be your parents! Happy 4th. #thanksforstayingintillaftervalentines

All he wanted was Transformers so we had a Transformer birthday and he asked to go to Chuck E Cheese (2 months later and he is still talking about his birthday)!.  Love this little man so very much!
