4th of July

One of the greatest things I prize most in life is my freedom. I thank the men and women who have gone before and who live today to sacrifice being away from those they love to fight for and defend freedom. We are so blessed to live in this great land. Sure it is a land filled with its own difficulties—economic hardships, and political hypocrisies—but there is NO other place I would rather live.

Take a moment to pause and reflect on the beautiful ability you have of waking up to a peaceful morning—without the sound of warfare; take a moment to reflect and be grateful that if you work hard enough and are dedicated enough you have the ability to do what you love, live your dreams, come and go as you please...that you have a voice (a right, a vote)—to make choices, to defend issues that are important to you...many in this world do live in such luxury.

Happy Birthday America!!

We had such a wonderful weekend celebrating with our AP family.  Jake recently bought a beautiful home to house the festivities—bbq, basketball, volleyball, a slip and slide for the kids (and the men as you can tell from the pics), and FANTASTICALLY HUGE fireworks.  It was so nice to have the day to spend as a family and to also visit with friends we haven't seen in a while.  Beckahm and Amari were troopers staying the entire afternoon/evening enjoying the 4th festivities with us.  I was fortunate to have a moment to myself to contemplate the gratitude I felt in the Lord giving me second chances.  I think back to the hard decision I had to make in leaving Sweden and getting a divorce and I could not be more grateful that I had the gumption and the ability to make such a decision.  I am so grateful where my life has led me; I am so grateful that I live in America, that I am married to an American who not only shares my religious beliefs but who also loves this country and can enjoy these traditions that are so important to me.  I am so grateful I have the opportunity to pass on these traditions to my children—to instill a love of ones country, family, and tradition.

Let the boating begin!

I got Amari laughing really good at the Lake; I love his silly sense of humor!
