It was a low-key Thanksgiving this year. Mike had a week off and so we were able to spend a lot of time together as a family. We finally purchased a second car and went to pick it up in North Carolina. We decided to stay the night in Atlanta on the way back (the kids love hotels). It was a fun little getaway. We love our used Tahoe!! It is so nice to have more room and to not have had to give in to buying a minivan ;) ;). We had some delicious Greek food and a yummy breakfast in Atlanta and stayed at the Omni hotel, down town.
For Thanksgiving we went to the Dahl's house and celebrated with Mike's work friends. The kids had so much fun being with their friends. I made our entire Thanksgiving meal Gluten/Dairy free and am so happy with how it turned out! So glad I could feed the kids something to eat that wouldn't make them sick. We feel blessed to have food to eat, and to be in good health this time of year.
Mike and I were also able to buy some groceries for a family in need in our ward; it means so much to be able to give back after receiving so much. Their situation breaks my heart: a 16 year old, 18 year old, and a father. The father lost his job, the 18 year old is supporting the family working at Mc Donald's while going to school. They lost their mother a few months ago. And Cedella and her sister are recent converts to the church. Cedella and her family were so appreciative. I am grateful that our boys could share in this experience as well. I hope it leaves and impacting impression upon them; that they grow up remembering that the true joy in living is through giving. I am grateful that I am now Cedella's visiting teacher and that we have created such a sweet friendship with her and her family.

We attended an open house at Pepper Place; it was so fun to change up the schedule and be out with the kids viewing art, interior design, and dining on finger food :)
