Orange Beach Vacation

Mike has a week off of work! Yippee! We made it through another summer season.  We were so excited to spend a fun/quality week together as a family.  The week of filled with a fun trip to the Gulf beaches: Orange Beach, and then we got some home projects done, and we took the kids canoeing and to the beach at Oak Mountain State Park.  Mike and I were also able to go on a fun date night with good friends and have a fun/crazy dance party with each other at home.  It was an awesome week!

Bags are packed: Orange Beach here we come!!

Love this new swimsuit I found at Forever 21!

Let the fun road trip begin.  It was four hours to OB and the kids did great! Mike and I had fun dancing and being silly to music while the kiddos enjoyed their movies!

Love this art/quote

Beck's LOVED the hotel! He thought it was the best set up ever! I love the innocence of children!

Our view from the Fairfield Inn

The kids would have been happy just riding the elevator and pressing the buttons

Sunrise OB

The sand was incredible! There was hardly anyone there, and the weather was amazing!!

Amari didn't want to get in the water but he loved playing in the sand and playing right near the water

Getting a workout in :)

The kids got such a kick out of feeding these seagulls, I was impressed with how good they were at catching everything you threw up into the sky

The Gulf restaurant: such an amazing atmosphere; right on the beach!

Chasing birds, making sandcastles, and cities, and pretending to be crabs.

Still had to get some type of workout in! Becks loved doing pushups and sit-ups

Catching jelly fish.  At first Mike and Becks didn't think they stung because they kept touching them, and then Beck's picked one up in the water and it stung him.  Luckily it wasn't poisonous.  He thought this trip was so incredible: a guy let him reel in two fish, he saw a shark, a dolphin, got stung by a jelly fish, and he "saw a pirate ship".  Best vacation ever! The vaca was not without it's troubles.  Poor Amari was not feeling good at all (his molars were coming in) and he was up both nights so none of us got much sleep.  But we carried on an made it work.  I am glad we ended up staying the two days.

The Warf: a fun shopping, entertainment area near the beach.  They had a kids night and the boys got to jump in bounce houses, ride the ferris wheel, pet a zebra, get ice cream, and hula hoop.

Becks wanted to fish so badly...he was so excited when this nice man asked him if he wanted to reel these two in!

Amari napping at the beach

Such a cool restaurant as well with an amazing atmosphere and an amazing shrimp appetizer!

Bounce house fun at the Warf

Night tag at the beach.  The minute the kids stepped foot on the sand they said "it's snowing!!" That's how white the sand is here!

Goodnight Orange Beach!

We even had a pet alligator— Wilber— and snapping turtles at the hotel!

The boys each got a souvenir from the trip. Becks picked out a turtle necklace, and Amari picked out a vintage car (both suitable to their personalities)

Daddy takes the boy's for the day!

Oak Mountain State Park: the kids first time canoeing. Amari was unsure of it at first but he got used to it quickly, and Beck's wanted to learn how to row us :).

Nature hike after canoeing and playing at the beach!

Making smore's in our new fire pit! The kids loved it! I will love this new tradition!

A sweet text from Mike after our fun week off together!
